We got OCCUPANCY approval today!
Bill worked for 2 nights after work til quite late this week, and the Lincoln guys a full day, to frame, insulate and vapor barrier the man cave, and to cover up existing walls that had rigid insulation. This can’t be left exposed apparently because it is highly flammable. So the Roxul went back up and the man cave got insulated.
Siding is complete, just need to do the railings, and then wrap the posts on the front porch. Coach lights were installed today as well. Both are not centred well on the siding, but it’s a Catch 22 as to who will fix it. But it WILL be fixed!
(and seriously, what’s with the handprints everywhere!! ARghhh)
The electricians left the boxes centered with the front door – but when the siding guys came in they just cut the hole where the box is.. and don’t move it to be more esthetic. I texted the siding guy today to ask him if he can come back to fix when he does our post wraps. but in the meantime, we DO have light!
Aren’t they pretty?
We had our siding contractor do all the gables around the house with the cedar shake vinyl, even where we left the white brick up. We will be painting this a grey to match the stone in the Spring. Already this freshens up the back so much, compared to the old blue painted wood.
Tomorrow the Blind company is coming to install all the window coverings, and we move in on Friday! It’s been quite the journey the last 4.5 months… we’re not done yet, but so much closer, and now know with certainty we will be home for Christmas.
Thanks for all your prayers and support along the way.. it’s been awesome having you along for the journey.
